Healing Truth Center is proud to support the Ninth Annual Westchester Women's Unity Day on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 10am to 4pm at the Theodore D. Young Community Center to be held at 32 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains, NY 10607. The event is sponsored by Akiele Inc. and the community center. Malaak Compton-Rock of The Angel Project will be the distinguished keynote speaker for this year's day of empowerment. The program includes performances, guest speakers, a marketplace, author signings and free health screenings. Akiele, Inc. will also honor New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins with the 2009 "Voice of the People" Award. Unity Day day will culminate with the highly anticipated Rites-of-Passage ceremony which is steeped in personal affirmations and cultural tradition. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
