Too Blessed To Be Stressed!
A college friend of mine used to always say "I am too blessed to be stressed!" Back then I was kinda out of the loop on the church/religious scene as I had only attended church (sometimes) as a little girl with one of my grandmothers. I was certainly spiritually curious, though, and had lots of thoughts as well as questions about "God", a Higher Power, and the meaning of life. Many years, books, studies, churches and spiritual centers later, I can certainly relate to an understanding of being blessed. For one, there is the Old Testament teaching in the Bible where God created the earth and the seas, light to rule over day and night, a host of living creatures including man, "blessed them" and looked at every thing made and beheld "it was very good." Many people choose to believe that all living creatures and every thing in this world was blessed and created for good by a God/Higher Power. I choose to believe this. My spiritual/metaphysical studies and training in mental health have further expanded this belief to include an understanding of the creative power in each individual that can sustain a life filled with "blessings" instead of stress.
The idea here is that in recognizing and affirming our blessings, our blessings are expanded. There are souls who walk this Earth choosing to believe that they are under a curse of some sort, a magnet for bad luck and misfortune, and that bad things happen all the time. Their experience usually validates that belief system, right? Then you have the folks like my college friend who for years held to the idea "I am too blessed to be stressed!" Trust me when I tell you, she has continuously experienced all sorts of wonderful blessings in her life. I may not be sharing anything that you do not already know, and in that case just consider this message as a little reminder. If you believe you are blessed, deeply and truly, you will be blessed. Not only will you notice blessings, you will develop the habit of expecting them. We all know what happens when we expect great things to unfold? And we all know that he who expects the worst, gets the worst. Have a great day dear hearts. May you have wonderful and great expectations for your blessed and prosperous life!
