Beyond the form, ritual, fashion show, colored eggs, bunnies, candy baskets and marketing of this season… is the spiritual idea of rising again. Stripped of all religious connotations, the word resurrection simply means “a rising again.” I pray that this idea resonates with you and that you can consider the implications of your very own rising again in mind, heart, spirit, vibration and circumstance.
For many of us, life has proven to include ups and downs, twists and turns. Sure, the motion is primarily forward. Yes, there are shifts within us and around us and sometimes it seems as if absolutely nothing is happening. We feel stagnant in those moments and circumstances seem as if they’ve not moved even a smidgen. Yet each and every day, regardless of circumstance and mood, we rise again. In that regard, every day is a resurrection. At the same time, without conscious effort towards our individual upward movement, essentially our ascension, the daily activity of merely opening our eyes and setting out to experience the day ahead leaves us subject to the day, instead of living out our highest potentials and possibilities each and every day.
A dear minister friend of mine out in Detroit, Reverend Gregory Guice, shared a revelation that came to him over the weekend as he prepared for his Sunday sermon. Since his sermon isn’t available online as yet, you’ll have to settle for my super brief synopsis of this one idea that he shared with me over the phone yesterday. In order for there to be a resurrection, we must first experience an insurrection within ourselves, revolting against the old paradigms, psychological constructs and ideas that have held us in the exact experience sets we’re poised to rise up and out of. We’d have to lay all of that down and resist the momentum of these deeply rooted established ideas, and hence rise above those experiences.
In my humble opinion, this is the level of spiritual growth and understanding that’s required for the evolution of humanity in the 21st Century. I encourage you to marinate of these ideas.
1) Resurrection is essentially a rising again into an even higher vibration, understanding, way of being and expression of your Godness. This you can do and must consciously do, because you are one of the spiritually illumined.
2) Your personal resurrection demands your individual insurrection, a laying down of the old paradigms of bondage, idolatry, limitation and egocentricity. The evolution of humanity involves all of us fully engaged and participating, while taking full responsibility for our role in the collective. We have to each own where and why we are selfish, inconsiderate of others and irresponsible about our impact on humanity overall.
3) Whatever the circumstances on your path, your greatest opportunity to rise above them will begin within… in your mind, heart and soul. Go there often for guidance, peace, wisdom, understanding, energy… EVERYTHING. Allow the voice of God to speak to and through you. Allow the energy and vibrations from your soul to rise up, restore, renew, replenish and energize you!
Especially on this first day of a new month, set aside some time to clearly identify your intentions for the month. Who, what, where and how you will be? Where will you go and grow? What will you do? How will you grow, give and receive? Put it in writing AND follow up with daily prayer, meditation and corresponding action. If you’re comfortable sharing with the community, post a reply below.
Today and every day, BE Amazing!
