Discipline is a primary necessary concept for a disciple, literally ALL of us living in a spiritual way.
Different from back in the days when our loving caregivers were tearing up our little tails without any fear of Child Protective Services, discipline in this context is about consistent order, action, adherence and obedience to the path. Is there any question as to of which path I AM speaking? For it is our individual, unique and inimitable paths with, for, by and as God that we are each here. Each of us have a life’s work and purpose to fulfill. We reveal that purpose with our every thought, word and deed, while it is simultaneously and increasingly revealed to us step by step and day by day.
Walking this path, our unique, individual and inimitable paths is a journey of an entire lifetime. Distractions abound. Validation and guidance from without may be spotty at best. But from within, the support and guidance is without limit. A soul who is consciously on the path to reveal their Divine Anointing and Godness in this lifetime knows these words all too well: surrender, obedience and commitment.
We’ve all already made commitments to revealing our individual parts of the Divine Plan before we dressed our souls into these physical forms. A sacred covenant was already made by every single one of us, even if the whole concept seems a little hazy to our consciousness.
What am I here for? What is it that I AM to be and do in this lifetime? What now? What next?
These are the questions that emerge when we are in the fog of the collective consciousness also known as the veil that covers fuller understanding of God. Fear not, for in asking the question you have opened yourself to receive the revelation. Trust, you’ll hear, see and know best when you take the time to be still.
Back to those three words: surrender, obedience and commitment. The spiritually awakened have to honor our sacred covenant to reveal ALL of our Godness for the fulfillment of the Divine Plan every single moment of every single day. Monks in the city that we are, we meditate so we can tune in and tune up to the Highest every single day. This requires discipline – consistent action towards our goal and objectives around spiritual living.
When we start each day with a morning meditation we can follow through for the remainder of the day in complete obedience to the Highest Power.
“God’s Will be done in, as, for and by me. God leads, guides, protects, perfects and prospers me! God is my Source, my Power, my Wisdom and my Answer at all times.”
Who are you to look to in times of confusion? God! Where can you best hear the Voice of God? In the secret chamber of your heart! So sit dear hearts! Sit still. Get quiet and open to receive the revelations God/Holy Spirit/Universe has for you.
This is true discipline, the discipline of the disciple. Look to God first, last, only and always. Your life is a living prayer. Honor it at all times. Let go of confusion. Do not let fear take hold of you. Let your dominant thought be: God is working in, as, for and through me to do all that which ought to be done by me! I know God for myself and live each day accordingly! If you feel yourself slipping or starting to waver: PRAY! When everything is amazing: PRAY. Every day: PRAY. Even better, gift yourself with daily meditation.
Meditation is super easy!
Meditation is your time to be present with Life, God, your soul, your heart, your thoughts, your breath… to be still. Check out the meditation videos in our Media Center to get started with meditation.
There are those a little further along on the path to support you on your way. They are not to be worshiped or idolized, though by the light of their souls you may access wisdom to illumine your path. Know this: you are not alone. There are many more of us than you may realize and together we are lighting up this world!
