Whatever “it” Is

Whatever “it” is, if it’s important to you, important enough that is, you’ll take action. For me, prayer is one of the best actions I can take. It’s that mental, emotional and spiritual preparation that literally allows miracles to happen. Now y’all already know that I believe we are the miracles unfolding in our lives much more so than the fantastic outcomes we experience and often refer to as miracles.

Was it a miracle that my father made it out of a coma or is the shift that has taken place within him since the miracle? If you  know my dad and his story, you know that he is a miracle. Not because of making it out of the hospital and into a new level of health but because despite everything he’s been through, he only gets better with time. Even without any particular spiritual perspective, his faith in himself, family, his word, love, honor, integrity, hard work and the possibility of better days have carried him through everything on his path.

Chilling at the pool recently with a friend, somehow we got to talking about various things I had to grow through in life. While sharing some of the significant turning points in my life, I cried. I don’t know if it was because watching and hearing her responses made it real that it’s a miracle I’m here today, sane, functioning and living on purpose. Maybe it was because I hadn’t told so much of my story in one sitting or just realizing how many times and ways I’ve been saved. I can’t say for sure what caused those tears, maybe it was all of the above.

The Power of Prayer

What I recalled, though, after all of that sharing was this: any and every time I’ve ever prayed about something consistently, without any conflicted thoughts as to whether I wanted or deserved it or about how and when it would happen… something absolutely amazing did happen, always. There isn’t one single prayer powered by my increasing faith that hasn’t been answered. There has always been fulfillment. With that kind of track record, it’s a wonder that I don’t pray for and about everything at all times.

Anyway, I hope you heard and felt the message here for you about the potential power you have to unfold miracles in your life through prayer. Whatever “it” is that you may be growing through right now and even if every single aspect of your life is all kinds of good, pray. Pray that you will always live on purpose. Pray that grace is your sufficiency. Pray that only good unfolds each and every day of your life. Pray that you will know and rest assured that the greatest power for good in the entire universe is always operating to ensure your best and blessed at all times. Pray that you have the wisdom to always be a good steward of every dollar that comes into your possession. Pray that all of your bills are paid on time. Pray that you continue to prosper in all aspects of your life, daily. Pray that you can embrace the increase that is awaiting you. Pray that you will always be love, loving and loved. Pray that you always honor the holy temple that is your body without hesitation, exceptions or excuses. Pray that you can accept and trust in the Divine Plan of good for all. Pray that you always know good in, as, for and through you. Pray for increasing faith, motivation, inspiration, strength, confidence, peace, happiness and every good thing. And feel free to pray for the little things as well – the parking space, the perfect outfit… you name it. The very best prayer is the prayer of faith: I believe. “I believe, I know and I trust in only good. And so it is.” That ought to cover everything, wouldn’t ya say?

This one is dedicated to my Daddy, Derek Raymond Aarons-Cooke. I love and thank you for being a living example of faith in action, in your own oh so very special way.

Wishing all of you wonderful ones out there a blessed day, blessed week and blessed everything!

P.S. What’s been your experience with prayer? Has it proved helpful to you, confusing or even a waste of time? Have you found prayer to be an effective tool to inspire, empower and bless you in wonderful ways? Do share. I’ll reply.
